Rapids Raptors
Youth Football & Cheerleading
Equipment provided by the Raptors is handed out in July during our Equipment Night. If you are unable to attend equipment night with your athlete, please contact the Equipment Manager for football gear or the Cheer Coordinator for cheer uniforms. Two $100 deposits due at this time, and checks are preferred as they are held until the end of the season. One check is for the equipment deposit and the other is held as the volunteer deposit.
Not all items are handed out at equipment night, and items that are kept by the athlete may be used from year to year. For items not provided, please note we offer an equipment swap. Cleats are our most donated item, however we take all gently used items below.

After equipment night, please make sure all your equipment fits properly.
For football athletes try on all your gear (shoulder pads, pants, helmet) together. If something does not fit correctly, please come to the trailer during the first week of practice to make exchanges. Do not wait until the second week of practice to make exchanges.
For cheerleading athletes try on your entire uniform (shell, skirt, spanx). Make sure that the uniform is comfortable to move in. There should be enough room to layer under the uniform for cold games.
Do not wear game jerseys or cheer uniforms for practice. Game jerseys and cheer uniforms should only be worn for picture day, games, and scrimmages. Athletes wearing these items to practice will be required to sit out and observe practice for the day.
Football Athletes
Football athletes need to protect their shoulder pads and uncovered shoulder pads can hurt other athletes. A shirt or practice jersey must be worn over the should pads. Athletes that do not have a covering over their shoulder pads will be required to sit out and observe practice for the day. Practice jerseys can be purchased at equipment night or in the equipment trailer during practice.
Football pants can be washed in the washing machine. However, they should not be placed in the dryer, and should only be air dried. Drying the football pants in the drier will ruin the pads.
Cheer Athletes
Cheer uniforms can be washed in cold water and dried. Spots should be treated right away to prevent them from setting in. Please keep an eye out for underarm stains as well.
